Ukiyo-e Layer Stamp Kits Selected for Two Film Events in the Philippines
October 2026

Two different Ukiyo-e Layer Stamp Kits, each featuring a distinctly Japanese design that reflects its respective event, have been selected for two film events in the Philippines. The first will be featured at the Japanese Film Festival (JFF), which begins on October 1, 2026. Held annually across 10 countries—eight ASEAN member states, India and Australia—the festival will use the “One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji” design to offer visitors an opportunity to experience Japanese culture. The Philippines is placing special emphasis on this year’s festival as it marks the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines.
The other event begins on October 10, 2026, as part of a special program for Global South countries. “Cinema Kabuki” screenings and workshops will be held in seven countries across the Philippines, Latin America and the Middle East. At the venues, visitors will be able to try a commemorative layered-stamping activity featuring a design of “Kumadori,” the distinctive makeup used in Kabuki theater. The booth is designed to enrich the visitor experience while offering an opportunity to engage with Japanese culture in countries and regions where awareness of it may be limited.
